This is yet another of the artworks from this artist's gallery that I love. It stands out to me initially for it's bright and fun colours and summery feel.
I really appreciate the interesting combination of a variety of stock images and brushes, which result in an image that leads the viewer's eye around from the bird, to the dark splatter and to the flowers. It personally feels to me like a great combination of a modern photo-manipulation, cleanly and well made technically, but combined with a nice sense of vintage nostalgia.
I understand what the artist's meant by the idea of making of something after having had a 'photoshop block', since I am familiar with just grabbing some striking stock or brushes, and just letting the creation flow from there. It is this type of art that expresses great emotion and feeling from the artist, since it is not planned but rather just happens.
Lastly, I like the way that the typography was used to show the deviation's title, as if it belongs in a magazine, as well as the way the little hot air balloons mimic the parrot's colours and shape. I would not ever have thought to compare those two things if it were not for this artwork. The little pin in the top corner is a particular cute touch.
A well composed and executed artwork, showcasing the artist's signature style and talent.
Huh. Not usually a fan of stock photo pieces, but this one is actually pretty impressive. I love the composition of it, and the textures and brushes you used to bring all the pieces together are nearly flawless. Great job!
